Locally led conservation efforts are in place in Nevada, but there is a need to expand this model across the state. Various organizations and individuals currently support collaborative conservation and recognize that Nevada would benefit from a coordinated state-wide effort, designed by people within the state, to connect, amplify, and leverage locally-led conservation

The NVCCN:

  • is a network to enhance meaningful communication and provide structure to support local, diverse stakeholder groups working to achieve conservation that incorporates best science with local knowledge through a collaborative planning and implementation approach.
  • has been developed within the state to serve as a bridge between various groups that are already operating at the local, state and federal levels as a way to enhance and expand conservation efforts across the state.
